Heat, glare, privacy, UV — most people only fix one and live with the other three. Window film fixes them at the glass: a conservatory that cooks every afternoon, a west-facing room you can't use at 4pm, an office elevation with a solar-gain problem, a flat overlooked from across the street. Reflective film starts at £35/m² and cuts solar heat gain and glare without blacking the room out or losing the view. Safety and security film, from £45/m² fitted, holds the glass together on impact — a broken window that stays in the frame instead of on the floor, which matters for smash-and-grab resistance and basic safety around the glass.

Where it works Conservatories and garden rooms that overheat, south- and west-facing rooms with afternoon glare, shopfronts and offices with a solar-gain problem, overlooked flats, and glass that needs to be made safer without replacing it. Residential or commercial — the film and the standard of fitting are the same.

Specialist films — clear heat-rejection, UV-clear, bomb blast mitigation film, even anti-eavesdropping film for military and secure organisations — are specified individually. Tell us what you're solving and we'll point you at the right product.

Questions

Solar control & privacy film — the usual questions

Will window film make the room dark?

No. Reflective solar film knocks back heat and glare while keeping the view and most of the daylight — it isn't blackout. If you want a mirrored look from outside or a particular tint level, we match it on the survey.

Can window film replace air conditioning?

It reduces the load rather than always removing the need. On a conservatory or a heavily glazed room it makes a real difference to peak temperature and glare; the worst over-glazed spaces are best paired with ventilation or cooling rather than relying on film alone.

How long does a window film job take?

Most homes are half a day to a day. Commercial jobs depend on access and area — you get a real timeframe with the estimate, and anything needing scaffold or a cherry picker is confirmed on the survey.

Does the film need any upkeep?

Clean it with a soft cloth and mild detergent — no abrasives, no ammonia — and leave it a few weeks after fitting before the first clean. That is the whole maintenance routine.

Which window film brands do you fit?

LLumar, Global Window Films and Vion — accredited installer for all three, so the warranty is the manufacturer's, not just ours.
